India is set to host its first-ever Artificial Intelligence Impact Summit, marking a significant milestone in the country’s growing influence in global technology policy and innovation. Scheduled to take place from February 16 to 20 at the iconic Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, the four-day event will bring together world leaders, technology pioneers, AI researchers, and policymakers from across the globe.
The summit is being described as the first global AI gathering hosted in the Global South, underlining India’s ambition to play a central role in shaping the future of artificial intelligence. According to the government, the event will be anchored around three guiding “Sutras” — People, Planet, and Progress — emphasizing inclusive growth, sustainability, and innovation-driven development.
High-Profile Global Attendees
The India AI Summit will feature an impressive lineup of global technology and policy leaders. Among those confirmed to attend are Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates, Google and Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai, and former British Prime Minister Tony Blair.
OpenAI CEO Sam Altman is also expected to participate, alongside NVIDIA founder and CEO Jensen Huang. Their presence highlights the summit’s global significance, bringing together leaders at the forefront of generative AI, semiconductor innovation, and cloud computing.
Other prominent international figures include Adobe CEO Shantanu Narayen, Qualcomm CEO Cristiano Amon, Microsoft President Brad Smith, Ericsson CTO Erik Ekudden, and Cloudflare CEO Matthew Prince.
India’s business leaders will also be strongly represented. Confirmed attendees include Infosys co-founder Nandan Nilekani, Tata Sons Chairman Natarajan Chandrasekaran, HCL Tech Chairperson Roshni Nadar Malhotra, Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani, and Bharti Enterprises Chairman Sunil Bharti Mittal.
Focus on Research and Policy
Beyond corporate leadership, the summit will also spotlight foundational AI research. Renowned AI scientist Yann LeCun, former Meta Chief Scientist and founder of AMI Labs, and Yoshua Bengio, widely regarded as one of the “godfathers of AI,” are expected to attend. Their participation underscores the summit’s emphasis on both industry innovation and academic excellence.
A dedicated research symposium will be held on February 18 to bridge the gap between research, practice, and policymaking. The symposium has already received over 250 submissions from India and international contributors, reflecting strong global interest.

The India AI Summit builds upon the momentum of major international gatherings such as the AI Seoul Summit, the Global AI Summit on Africa, the UK AI Safety Summit, and the France AI Action Summit.
